The Demons have gone through the 2015 season undefeated and will aim to add a premiership triumph to the year’s achievements at Warracknabeal’s Anzac Park.
The two sides played each other twice in the home-and-away fixture in 2015, with the Demons recording comfortable 20-goal and 19-goal triumphs.
Horsham qualified for Saturday’s decider by accounting for Nhill in 23-goal, second semi-final victory.
On the flip-side, Horsham Saints were forced to take the long road after being beaten in the qualifying final by the Tigers by two goals.
To the Saints’ credit, they fought back to easily account for Ararat in the first semi-final, before proving itself a grand-final contender with a stoic eight-goal win against Nhill in the two sides’ second finals appearance.
The Demons go into Saturday’s match fresh from a week off, and coach Jaymi O’Connor said the side was confident it could take out the grand final match.
“They’re a very strong group of girls. There’s a really strong junior program at the club,” she said.
“It really shows with the group of girls in this team.”
O’Connor said the defensive Demons often proved the barometer for the side’s performance on game day, pointing to league best and fairest winner MacKenzie Camilleri as a key player for Horsham.
“Our defenders are very strong,” she said.
“MacKenzie Camilleri is a huge player for us. If she has a good game then the whole team tends to have a good game.”
O’Connor also pointed torward captain Romi Miller to stand up.
“Our goal attack Romi Miller is super important too,” she said.
“She leads the team and she’s also our captain.
“If she’s on song then the team generally wins.”
The Demons will hope to reverse their 2014 grand final loss.
Horsham went down to Ararat in last year’s decider by just two goals.
The Demons were all-square at three-quarter-time of that match but were over-run in the final minutes.
Horsham Saints were also in the running for a flag in 2014, but were knocked out by the Rats in the preliminary final.
