The two sides were the standout in their Wimmera Netball Association division, finishing one and two on the ladder.
The Demons dropped just the one match over the course of the regular season fixture, and it came against their grand final opponent in round 15, making Saturday’s encounter much more intriguing.
The two sides met again in the finals series, with Horsham proving too good, winning by four goals in the second semi-final.
The Saints went on to cruise into the weekend’s decider, winning by 21 goals against Minyip-Murtoa in Sunday’s preliminary final in Stawell.
Demons coach Brianna Farr said there were mixed emotions among the playing group in the lead-up to Saturday’s clash.
“They’re excited, a little bit nervous, but mainly excited,” she said.
Farr said Horsham was confident it could win, but was aware of the previous matches between the two sides had been close.
“The past few times we’ve played each other it’s been four goals,” she said.
Farr believes whoever is more potent in their front half would emerge victorious.
“Whichever goalies are on and which defenders are better than their respective goalies is going to go a long way to seeing who wins,” she said.
The Demons earned the week off which will see them enter the match fresh, but Farr said because of their age, she did not think it made much difference.
“The girls are young and fit so I don’t think it really affects them,” she said.
“It should be a tight game.”
