Both sides played their first match on Tuesday, with the Rebels Two team recording a tight 6.8 (44) to 5.8 (38) triumph against Bendigo Pioneers Two.
The Rebels One side was not so lucky, as the Pioneers One team overcame a five-point half-time deficit to record a 7.6 (48) to 6.4 (40) win.
On Thursday’s final day of competition, the Rebels Two side recorded another close win, beating Goulburn Murray Two 9.10 (64) to 8.12 (60) while the Rebels One side thrashed Goulburn Murray 11.9 (75) to 3.11 (29).
In the Youth Girls Shield, a dozen Wimmera players took to the field for the Western Rebels, but could not salvage a win.
The girls were competitive in their 24-point loss to North East Border on Wednesday but struggled in a 95-point loss on Thursday to Goulburn Murray, scoring just one behind.
