Show secretary Rebecca Sluggett said gate entries were still being finalised but it appeared crowds were lower than previous years.
“The hot weather probably had something to do with it,” she said.
“It’s the second time we’ve clashed with the grand final and if it’s going to become a regular thing we might have to look at moving the show date in future.”
Ms Sluggett said the performance by the 3rd Light Horse Regiment Naracoorte Troop had been well received as had the Australian wildlife petting zoo, which featured animals such as wombats and kangaroos.
She said the show festivities had concluded about 6pm.
