The mother-of-two was farewelled by about 200 mourners at Beechworth Anglican Church, the same church where she married her husband, James, five years ago.

While she has no family links to the region, the couple liked the area so much that the funeral service was held there.

A funeral procession lasting about an hour carried her coffin to the Bright Public Cemetery after the service, where Ms Lehane was buried.

Priest Bethley Sullivan, who married the couple, conducted the funeral service.

"She was remembered as a loving mum, a fun-loving mum," she said.

"She loved her children, loved her family and loved her friends.

"She had a wonderful sense of humour and liked a nice glass of red wine."

A photo tribute was shown to the tune of Breathe me by Sia and music by Snow Patrol and Something For Kate was also played.

Mother Sullivan said several people had spoken at the funeral, including Ms Lehane's husband.

"There were a number of tributes from family and friends, giving their thoughts on their friend and wife," she said.

"There were some loving tributes.

"The eulogy was about regrowth and the resurrection.

"Everyone was saying she was a nice caring mother."

The funeral was also streamed by video link to the Allison Monkhouse chapel in Frankston, where the couple had friends and family members.

A funeral notice called for donations to be made to The Alfred hospital in lieu of flowers.

Messages of support for the family have flooded social media since the tragedy.

A candlelight vigil was held for Ms Lehane, known by many as Andy, in the Carrum Downs shopping centre car park on September 27.

Police had appealed for information after her death and released footage of the incident in a bid to track down those responsible.

Caleb Jakobsson, 18, has been charged over the hit-and-run. Two other teenagers who cannot be named have also been charged.
