Triple H 96.5FM president Jean Darnell said year 11 students from Horsham’s St Brigid’s College had taken to the airwaves as part of their media studies.
“They started part way through last term and they went on the air at the end of the term,” she said.
“They wanted to come back, so now they are hosting a program every Monday from 1.45pm to 3.15pm.”
Mrs Darnell said the station was more than happy to accommodate the students.
“It allows listeners to hear what the young people have to say,” she said.
“It’s great to see them involved and the station is always looking for more young people, as they are the ones who will keep the station going in the future.”
Mrs Darnell said in the past St Brigid’s College students had also hosted programs during the school holidays.
She said the students also attracted younger listeners.
“We have a few younger presenters now, who play modern music – it’s great to have them on board and encourages more listeners for the future,” she said.
