Minyip Agricultural and Pastoral Society president Martin Godena said the show had previously been in March the past few years but the committee decided to move it back to October this year to align with the Wimmera show season.
“Due to lack of attendance, we tried having an earlier show, making it more of a festival, but it didn’t work and we decided to change it back to October,” he said.
Mr Godena said the day attracted about 300 people.
“It was great attendance,” he said.
“The entire town embraced it and we pulled it off.
“The weather was against us, especially the wind, but we improvised.”
Mr Godena said the last time the show had horse events was in 2009.
“We’ve since re-furbished all the jumps and and we had more than 100 entrants,” he said.
“The feedback was very positive,” he said.
