Rupanyup Major Events president Ash Teasdale said the tickets for the black tie lunch had already sold out.
He said the committee would do a few different things for this year’s event.
“We will have cider this year for the first time,” he said.
“It’s something that has been suggested in the past.”
Mr Teasdale said the event would also be a reunion of some original committee members.
“The event started in 1996 and it will be good to see some of the past committees back again,” he said.
“I’m sure there will be a lot of stories told from over the years.”
Committee members mowed the barley crop on Wednesday, ready for this year’s event.
Mr Teasdale said while the growing season hadn’t been kind, they were still looking forward to a great event.
“The crop is still hanging in there at the moment,” he said.
“It will be similar to last year I think - it’s not the best.
“Hopefully we can snag a bit of rain between now and then, which will hopefully make a difference.”
Live music this year will include band The Vibe, who performed last year, and acoustic musician Scott Fraser.
“Scott played at a couple of early banquets in the late 90s, so it will be good to get him back as well,” Mr Teasdale said.
Tickets sold out in 10 days this year, after selling out in 30 minutes last year and eight minutes in 2013.
“It’s still really positive that the event sold out again - for a small community like Rupanyup, it’s great that there is still a lot of interest,” Mr Teasdale said.
“We are all looking forward to it - it’s the best day of the year.”
The Barley Banquet will be on October 24.
