Emergency services found the elderly woman in a burnt-out car after they responded to a fire on a private property on the Henty Highway about 2pm.
Investigators from the Victoria Police Arson and Explosives Squad in Melbourne were at Mockinya with Horsham Crime Investigation Unit investigators on Friday.

FRIDAY 9am: INVESTIGATORS from the Victoria Police Arson and Explosives Squad in Melbourne are at Mockinya after a woman was found dead in a burnt-out car.
Emergency services found the elderly woman after they responded to a fire on a private property on the Henty Highway about 2pm Thursday.
A police spokesman said Horsham Crime Investigation Unit investigators, CFA investigators and an arson chemist were at the scene with arson and explosive investigators.
He said police did not have any further detail at this stage.
Thursday – 8.15pm
POLICE are investigating after a woman was found in a burnt-out car at Mockinya.
Emergency services were called to a fire on a private property on the Henty Highway about 2pm.
A woman was found deceased in a burnt car and is yet to be formally identified.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
No further details were available.
