The 131st annual Kaniva Show on Saturday featured a quick shear competition, vintage tractor pull, animal nursery and an extensive horse section.
Show secretary Angela Veitch said everything went to plan.
“There was no major dramas,” he said
“Numbers were down on previous years but we were still very happy with the turn out.”
“The quick shear was a great success again with a large crowd staying to watch the finals,.
“The horse events went off well - Donna Burns did a great job organising the program as usual.”
Ms Veitch said both the quick shear competition and vintage tractor pull were back by popular demand.
She said a new event was a ‘relive your childhood’ category in the community pavilion.
The category included items like fairy bread and decorated wooden spoons.
The Kaniva Shared Ministry provided free children’s activities and show bags.
Traders set up shop in the Kaniva Community Complex, with items for sale such as Tupperware, almonds, quilts and candles.
West Wimmera Health Service offered free blood pressure checks.
Ms Veitch said the show was looking for more volunteers.
“We are looking for someone to take over organising the Kaniva Community Complex display,” she said.
“Someone could either do this full time, or as part of a year on, year off rotation.
“We are also looking for a trade display co-ordinator for 2016 and beyond.”
