The Nati Frinj is a community run event with wonderful support from the local population. The editorials and articles featured in the Mail-Times helped us to spread the word throughout the region.
The Nati Frinj biennale is supported by ACT Natimuk, a volunteer committee who oversee a number of community events throughout the year.
Thanks to all on the committee, especially chairperson Martin Bride. Committee members Sarah Natali, Lynne Quick and Elaine Uebergang were amazing, coordinating volunteers and accommodation for artists as well as production needs.
Our team of lads, Adam, Oz and Duncan, were an amazing production team. No problem was too big - including giant tea pots.
All the volunteers were so lovely to work with, everybody turned up on time with a smile on their face, ready for action. Hannah French was an incredible production manager and so good to work with.

Wonderful vision
ON behalf of the Warracknabeal Warriors and Woodbine Inc, I would like to express our utmost appreciation to Jenny Reid for her wonderful vision in daring to believe that Horsham could support and include 32 teams of athletes in the week-long carnival known as the Tri State Games. It is also reflects enormous credit on the Horsham East Rotary Club for supporting Jenny in this wonderful endeavour. I’m sure there were many other supporters and assistants that made the games the best in its 30 years of running.
The opening day was a memory to be cherished with a march by the athletes through some of Horsham’s main streets, astonishing fly-overs by the RAAF Roulettes, a wonderful singing and signing concert by local primary school students, a fitness class and welcoming speeches.
The food and entertainment provided to the athletes across the week was unparalleled and the multitude of amazing stories related by the grateful participants kept me occupied for two full nights.
Having been involved in the recent Grampians games, I am aware of the enormous fillip this event is to local economies in the off-season. Hopefully, this will translate into even more support from Horsham business next year. The Wimmera Events Cup has been run and the Horsham East Rotary Club is leading in the winner.

Hall privilege
I was privileged to attend the Mitre Hall 100 year anniversary celebrations and plaque unveiling by Emma Kealy and Mark Radford. Congratulations to the hall committee for a job well done.
The ladies put on a magnificent afternoon tea and roast dinner. The entertainment provided by Steve Greenaway on piano and Gary Dickerson on piano was top notch. It is a credit to the locals in maintaining the hall.

Easing the burden
FOURTEEN standpipes and nine firefighting tanks will be installed across Western Victoria. These standpipes and firefighting tanks will ease the burden for farmers forced to travel long distances to cart water for stock and domestic use and will help to protect our communities during the fire season.
I have been lobbying the state government to urgently improve access to water supplies for firefighting purposes and to support our drought-affected communities.
I am pleased my lobbying has been heard by the state government and that support is headed our way.
