NATIMUK and District Gymnastic Club’s biggest event of the calendar year is been and gone after the club hosted its invitational tournament at the weekend.

More than 260 competitors converted on Natimuk for the event, which ran across Saturday and Sunday.
In the boys competition, representatives from Natimuk fared well, with Ben Grey, Mason Luo, Rory Caldow, Daniel Luo, Brodie Hausler, Remi Bailey, Ethan Rudolph and Wil Tippett all finishing in the top three positions in their respective levels.
Natimuk’s Bianca Carr finished fifth in the level one girls competition, while Nadia White won level two.
Stawell’s Paige Davies finished fifth in the level three events, while Tahlia Wilson - also from Stawell - finished second in level four.

In a level four team event, Natimuk’s Ebony Hart, Laetitia Schier, Myssi Patterson and Kristen Smith finished third.
In level five, Hailey Puls claimed a win on bars, as Brooklyn Fraser finished third overall.
Puls and Fraser teamed up with Jerae Trigg to finish second in the team competition.
In level six, Ararat’s Karly Griffits was runner-up on beam.
In the state level nine competition, Natimuk’s Chloe Payne claimed the overall victory, while Brooke Payne finished third in state level 10 behind Stawell’s Emersyn Kennedy and Kiara Pitcher.
Coach Lynette Morrow branded the event a huge success.
“It was great. We had a very successfull weekend,” she said.
“We’re extremely pleased with how it went. It ran smoothly and ran on time.
“It was full-on. It ran all day Saturday and Sunday with 8am starts with finishes at 6pm.”
