The woman who accuses the former North Melbourne footballer of raping her in 2007 — when she was 15 and he was 16 — told jurors in the County Court she was made fun of by classmates given the book they were studying in class dealt with a similar event.

Mr Daw, now 24, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape.

The Crown alleges he raped the girl after they left a party in March 2007.

Mr Daw's lawyer has told the court some sexual activity took place between the pair, but there was no vaginal intercourse.

The court was closed to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday while the woman gave evidence, but in a transcript of Tuesday's evidence released by the court to the media, the woman told jurors she was teased by classmates several months after the alleged offences, while they were studying the novel.

"People were making fun of me about the book," she said.

The woman told the court she began crying in class and the class teacher asked what was wrong.

"I was crying and she asked me if I was OK and then I told her," she said.

The court heard the teacher alerted the school's principal, and police were called.

The woman said she did not want to pursue the matter at the time.

"I didn't want anything to come of it. I didn't want to remember it. I didn't care about it any more," she told the jury.

The woman, now 24, contacted police last year after experiencing nightmares.

"I thought maybe it'd help me ... cause I want him [Mr Daw] to be in trouble now ... because he hurt me," she said.
