Witnesses who knew her around that time, when she was 15, told a jury she was normally a "bubbly" and "chatty" girl and that they learned of the allegations after asking her if she was okay.

One of her former teachers and another person who knew her in 2007 both testified that the alleged victim had told them someone named Majak was her attacker.

The Victorian County Court earlier heard from a school friend who said the girl had told him she had been raped.

Daw has pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape that allegedly occurred after he and the girl went for a walk at a party in Melbourne's west when he was 16.

One of the girl's ex-teachers on Thursday said the girl told her she had been raped after the teacher noticed she seemed upset.

"One day she just sort of looked vacant and she wasn't herself," the teacher told the court.

She said the alleged victim was normally "a happy sort of bubbly girl. Very chatty".

The teacher asked the girl if she was okay, and she said she was.

"I said, 'Are you sure?' She started crying, she cried for a long time," the teacher told the court.

The alleged victim then said she had been raped, the teacher said.

Another woman who knew the girl at the time told the trial she had also asked her whether she was okay after noticing she seemed upset.

The girl said she had been with a boy at a party and things went further than she wanted, the witness told the court.

"She asked him to stop, he didn't stop," the witness said.

Daw's defence barrister David Sexton told the trial sex acts did occur, but were consensual.

A police officer on duty when the alleged victim first reported the matter in 2007 said the girl said Daw's older brother had been intimidating her at school.

Earlier, a man who was at the party as the then boyfriend of the complainant's best friend told the court he had seen the two girls together after the alleged offending, and that the alleged victim "looked a bit out of sorts" and was crying. He said he thought the alleged victim was drunk.

"I just told them to calm down, I thought they were over-reacting a bit," said the man, who cannot be named becaus the name of his then girlfriend is suppressed.

The boyfriend said he then looked for Mr Daw and when he approached him, he thought Mr Daw looked uncomfortable.

"He just said 'I didn't do anything'," he said.

"From the conversation we had he did deny it. He just said he didn't do it."

Under questioning from defence counsel David Sexton, the man agreed he had told Mr Daw not to worry as he believed the denial and then shook his hand. The pair were football teammates, the court heard, and also knew each other from school.

Another party guest, Blake McKenna, said the alleged victim was "distraught" when he came upon her and her friend, and that she was "crying and screaming and mumbling her words".

"The only thing I heard was (the friend) asked who did it and she (the alleged victim) answered with Majak," Mr McKenna said.

Mr McKenna said he and the friend had looked for the complainant after noticing she had been missing from the party.

Nicole Comito said she also looked for the girl and told the jury she remembered the complainant and the friend come up the footpath behind the house, but nothing stood out about their appearances. Mr Daw came up the path later, she said.

Ms Comito said the friend had told her earlier that night that she was jealous of the complainant leaving the party with Mr Daw. The friend denied any feelings of jealousy when giving evidence on Wednesday.

The court heard on Thursday the complainant told school friend Joshua Keirl of the allegations in the weeks after the party, and named Mr Daw.
