The usually bearded Mr Miatke shaved at the start of Movember so he could take part in the men’s health awareness campaign.
But in an added twist, his students were given a choice between several moustache styles, with the grade one and two children eventually deciding on a question mark shaped mo.
Each student who voted donated money to the cause and the school has now raised more than $700 for the Movember campaign.
When he shapes his beard on Monday, Mr Miatke will shave it into a question mark, as chosen by his students.
He said the children learnt valuable lessons about male stereotypes and communicating from the campaign.
“The students know it is about looking after men and teaching guys they don’t need to act tough all the time,” he said
“It is okay to tell people about how you are feeling. Some boys act macho because they think that is what guys do.”
