Learning support teacher Gen Kreymborg said 257 students read 10,835 books as part of the challenge.
The reading challenge asked students in prep, grade one and two to read 30 books and students from grade three to year 10 to read 15 books by September 14.
More than 1500 Wimmera students took part in the challenge.
Mrs Kreymborg said she was proud of the efforts of the kids and the parents, grandparents and teachers who supported them.
“Over 10,000 is such a great effort form all the kids,” she said.
“We had about a dozen kids who read 100 books.”
