A burglar got more than he bargained for when he stole a car and promptly crashed it after being pursued by the victim's husband.

Earlier a woman, 31, came home just before 4.30pm on Friday to find her Florence Street, Williamstown, home trashed.
She then saw a burglar armed with a knife inside her home.
The burglar grabbed the woman's car keys from her bag and fled in her white Mazda sedan.
The distressed woman phoned her husband.
On his way home, the man saw his wife's car being driven by the thief in nearby Champion Road.
He began to follow the car until it crashed in a minor collision with another car near the intersection of Champion and Kororoit Creek roads.
The burglar then dumped the car in Gem Street and ran into another house. He asked for a lift to the railway station but ended up fleeing towards the station in Champion Road.
Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are now hunting the burglar.
