ALAN Miles has been crowned Serviceton Bowling Club’s mixed 21 up winner at the weekend, outlasting fellow club member Loma Wallis in the final on Sunday.

Miles defeated Jim Kerville in Saturday’s semi-finals, while Wallis beat Leon Tink to progress to the decider.
Miles made a quick start on Sunday to build at 19-4 lead early, but Wallis slowly pegged back the deficit.
Two shots at the final end saw Miles clinch a thrilling 21-18 win.
Saturday also saw Leon Tink, Darren Merrett, Colleen Preece and Jacob Dixon win the club’s weekend competition against Miles, Gwen Colwill, Ben Dixon and Anita Colls.
Servicton will host its second week of social bowls on Thursday night.
The club welcomed 56 players to its first installment on February 4, and hopes to build on that over the coming six weeks.
Serviceton’s President’s Day will be at the weekend, with bowls and novelty prizes on offer on Saturday.
