The annual relay is on March 18-19 at Dock Lake Reserve.
Committee chairmanager Kingsley Dalgleish said registrations were $20 online until 5pm on February 19, when the price would increase to $25. Registrations include a 2016 Relay For Life jumper.
Mr Dalgleish encouraged people to join a team or register their own. “There is always a great flurry of registrations in the last month before our relay and I expect this year to be no different in that regard,’’ he said.
Last year’s relay at Coughlin Park had a record 51 teams involved, with about 1360 participants.
Mr Dalgleish said he was unsure how a change in venue for the 2016 event would affect numbers.
The Relay For Life committee raised more than $750 for cancer research and prevention and support programs with a barbecue at Bunnings Horsham on Saturday.
Mr Dalgleish said the fundraiser was a success. “The community supported our fundraising efforts in the same fantastic way that they always do – whether it be Relay for Life itself, Paint the Town Purple or any other worthy cause.,” he said.
Mr Dalgleish encouraged teams to promote fundraisers through the Relay For Life – Horsham & Districts Facebook page or by contacting Cass Dalgleish at the Mail-Times. He said he looked forward to the relay.
“We will have a superheroes theme for the Friday night, which ties in nicely with how we see all involved in Relay For Life – they are all superheroes,’’ he said.
