Rural Northwest Health dietician Ashley Webb will run sessions in Warracknabeal, Hopetoun and Beulah for Australia’s Healthy Weight Week.
Ms Webb said research showed home cooking was linked with eating smaller portions and more fruit and vegetables.
“People who cook at home also make less visits to fast food restaurants, and in turn this is more likely to result in a healthy weight,” she said.
“By improving skills in home cooking, Australians can up their vegetable intake by more than half a serve a day.”
The first session is at Gateway BEET, Hopetoun, on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm.
A session at Warracknabeal Community Garden will follow on Thursday from 9am to 10am.
The final workshop is at Beulah Business Information Centre on the same day from 10.30am.
