Customers across Australia reported issues with making calls this week.
Telstra’s service status page on its website showed there had been interruptions across the country for several hours from about 12.45pm on Tuesday.
Mobile data was also affected, including 2G, 3G and 4G services.
Complaints flooded social media during the interruptions.
Several Wimmera people shared their frustration on the Mail-Times Facebook page.
Horsham’s Emily Gilbert wrote she had not been able to call anyone from about 1pm.
The outage did not affect all Telstra customers.
Stawell’s Jake Synnix commented he had not lost service and was a Telstra customer.
Telstra kept customers up to date on the outage issues via Twitter.
The company announced customers will have free data usage on Sunday in apology for the inconvenience.
