Murtoa Sergeant Brendan Khan said the Cranbourne man, 65, was intercepted for a routine check after leaving the Marnoo Hotel about 6.50pm on Saturday.
He said the man tested positive for alcohol during a preliminary breath test.
Sgt Khan said after a evidential breath test the man blew .152.
The man had his licence suspended for 12 months and will face St Arnaud Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
