Six people died and two more were critically injured after four deadly car and a serious motorcycle crash in Victoria.
It is believed a Ford Falcon sedan was travelling south along the Henty Highway at Hopetoun when it lost control and crashed into a tree just after 8pm.
The male driver from Maryborough, and sole occupant, died at the scene.
Elsewhere, a horrific crash claimed the lives of two men and a woman after the Commodore sedan in which they were travelling collided with a truck in the town of Burrumbeet near Ballarat just after midnight on Saturday.
Another man was killed when he crashed a car into a tree the Mornington Peninsula about 5.30am Saturday.
The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene on a property near Hunts Road in Tuerong.
Another man died following a car crash in Myrtleford in the state's north.
Police believe the man was driving towards Myrtleford on the Myrtleford-Yackandandah Road about 9.50am when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree.
The male driver, the sole occupant, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
Meanwhile a motorcyclist remains in a critical condition after crashing in the state's east early Saturday.
The man, aged in his 30s, rode off the road near Victoria Street in Toongabbie before crashing into a tree.
He was airlifted to The Alfred hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
