Ray Buckley has lent his army marching jacket and other items to Horsham store Pick a Posie for a window display.
Mr Buckley has been fascinated with army wear and equipment for as long as he can remember.
He said he started collecting items as a young boy, and enjoyed talking to diggers, veterans and other collectors about their experiences.
Mr Buckley has been involved in every Horsham Anzac Day march since the 1970s, including in re-enactment ceremonies in the past few years.
He was called up for service in the 1960s, and served in the army for seven years.
Mr Buckley, a Horsham Military History Group member, will take part in three events in the next week.
Fellow group members Hartley Stephens, Justin Stephens, Bradley Stephens and Brett Buckley will join him.
The group is also involved with Geelong’s war re-enactment group.
“We will be attending a display of historical military vehicles at the Dadswells Bridge Hall at the weekend, which will showcase some of our collectibles and other enthusiasts,” Mr Buckley said.
The group will then take part in a war memorial dedication at Pimpinio on Sunday.
Mr Buckley said members would perform a salute to honour the diggers who served and gave their lives for Australia.
He will participate in Horsham’s Anzac Day march on Monday, and in a salute to fallen soldiers.
Mr Buckley said people could also see some of his war items at Horsham RSL.
