Anzac Day 2016 service guide
APSLEY: 11am service, then march to the town hall followed by service with Glen Hamlyn talking about walking the Kokoda Trail. March will then move to war memorials, with lunch to follow.
BEULAH: 11am service at the memorial gates at the town’s recreation reserve. Tree planting followed by a barbecue lunch at the Beulah football clubrooms.
BRIM: 8.45am service at the Brim Memorial Hall.
DIMBOOLA: 6am service at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College. A march will start at 8.30am, followed by a commemoration service with Charles Rees and Harry John. Morning tea at Dimboola RSL Sub-branch will follow.
EDENHOPE: 8am breakfast at the RSL hall on Langford Street, cost is $5 a person. A service will follow at the cenotaph at 10.30am with speaker Greg Robertson. Refreshments at the RSL hall and the AFL Anzac Day memorial football match will follow.
GOROKE: 10am march from Goroke Police Station. Memorial service to follow in Goroke Hall with Jacob McGennisken talking about his visit to Gallipoli. Wreath and cross laying will be at the war memorial, followed by morning tea at the Goroke Hall.
GREAT WESTERN: 9am commemorative service and march from Great Western Assembly. Refreshments at Mechanics Institute Hall after the service.
HARROW: 10am ecumenical service at Harrow RSL Hall. A march will start at 10.30am with piper Andrew Teusner. There will be a wreath-laying ceremony followed by The Last Post. Morning tea and refreshments at the hall will follow.
HOPETOUN: 6am service at the RSL hall, followed by a breakfast and ceremony at the memorial hall at 10am.
HORSHAM: 6am service at the Sawyer Park Cenotaph, with breakfast to follow at Horsham RSL. A march will start from Horsham’s Legacy House with Ken Taylor at 10am.
JEPARIT: 6am dawn service at the Anzac memorial on Broadway. A memorial service at Jeparit Memorial Hall will follow at 11am ,followed by march and a barbecue lunch.
KANIVA: 10.30am service at Kaniva RSL, followed by refreshments at the Kaniva Club Hotel. A centenary commemoration display will be open for viewing.
MINYIP: 9.30am march from the Minyip Memorial Gates, followed by a service at the town’s memorial hall.
MURTOA 6am service at the Murtoa Memorial Gates, followed by a march from the Murtoa Fire Station at 11am. Another service at the memorial gates will follow.
NHILL: 6.30am service at the war memorial statue in Goldsworthy Park, with breakfast. A wreath laying at cenotaph will follow before a march to the Nhill Memorial Community Centre. Another service will start at 11am with speaker Jo Ussing.
PATCHEWOLLOCK: Assembly at 10.45am out the front of Patchewollock Hotel followed by a ceremony and light lunch at the Patchewollock Hall.
RAINBOW: 9.45am assembly at the cenotaph, followed by a march. A service will follow at the Rainbow MECCA with speaker Alan Coffey before morning tea is served.
RUPANYUP: 9:45am march from the Rupanyup Police Station, followed by a service at the Rupanyup Memorial Hall.
SHEEP HILLS: 6.30am march from the corner of Boolite Road, followed by a service at the cenotaph.
ST ARNAUD: 6am service in Napier Street in front of the town hall. A march will start at 10.30am, followed by a service at Liberty Hall.
STAWELL: 6am service at Stawell War Memorial, with breakfast at Stawell Entertainment Centre. A march will start in Main Street at 11am, followed by refreshments at Stawell RSL.
WARRACKNABEAL: 10.30am assembly on the corner of Milbourne and Scott streets, followed by a march and re-dedication of park gates at the Anzac Park gates and a ceremony.
WOOMELANG: 9am service at Woomelang Group School to commemorate the planting of the Gallipoli Oak. Morning tea to follow at the school.
