After thrashing Talbot last week Navarre rewarded themselves with a light week of training this week, but are expecting to have to play well again to stay undefeated.
Navarre will go in with the same game plan as always with intent of running the ball and keeping out of the congestion.
“Maryborough like to play tight pack football,” Joint coach Jayden Fowkes said.
“We play a strong running game and they think that is how to defeat us. If we can win the ball out of the middle and get our wingers involved that will go a long way to winning.”
Navarre will be forced to make some changes to their line up with Danny Grellett unavailable with work commitments and Zach Parry having pulled up sore from last weeks match.
Parry had some tightness in his groin, but it is unsure whether he will be right to play.
“We haven't had a chat to him yet but he indicated he was sore earlier in the week,” Fowkes said.
While Navarre have been in near perfect form they still need to remained focused with the task at hand.
“It is a brick by brick situation,” Fowkes said.
“We want to build that wall at the end of the year.”
Inform player Cody Driscoll will be out to improve on last weeks 15 goal haul and Fowkes thinks when the two Driscoll brothers pair up anything is possible.
“They are the most powerful forward duo in the comp,” Fowkes said.
“They work extremely well together and very rarely to clubs have someone to match up on both. If one is down the other one stands up.”
Ash and Cody Driscoll combined for 22 goals in their last outing.
Fowkes will make a return to football this week after having surgery on his shoulder in the off season.
“Everything went really well during surgery,” Fowkes said.
“I have worked hard with my recovery and I am looking forward to getting back out there.”
Having not played since the grand final last year Fowkes with run out with the reserves unless there is any late changes.
“I want to earn my spot in the ones like everyone else does,” Fowkes said.
Navarre will play on their home ground from 2.20pmm tomorrow.
