The morning tea at Wimmera Health Care Group encourage staff and patients to wear pink.
The day was also used to promote the group’s model of care.
The model of care encourages midwives to be involved in antenatal classes, preparing mothers for the process of giving birth.
Wimmera Base Hospital Yandilla ward nurse unit manager Leonie Hoskins said the event was a chance for midwives past, present and future to celebrate together.
"We had former midwives come in, as well as some students who are studying midwifery," she said.
"We also promoted our new model of care, which involves the younger midwives running antenatal classes.
"The mums have felt really comfortable with the younger midwives, so it's been very successful.
“It gives us a chance to celebrate all the hard work that the midwives do.”
Those present at the morning tea also used the opportunity to welcome a new addition to the Horsham community.
Scout Isabelle, the daughter of Jerri Warren, was successfully delivered at the hospital on Wednesday.
Young midwife Jenna Clark assisted Jerri through three stages of the birth.
These stages consisted of antenatal classes, the process in the birth room, and the post-natal period.
The Yandilla ward will be in party mode again when they host a breakfast for International Nurses Day on Thursday.
