The car ploughed into the front window of a jewellery store in O'Sullivan Road shortly before 3.20am on Monday, police said.
Leading Senior Constable Adam West said the offenders stole jewellery from the store and fled the scene, leaving the car behind.
The store, Hop Y Jeweller and Watchmaker, is a family-owned business.
A worker at the store, who did not wish to be named, said the family had run the business for 30 years.
"This does not scare us and we will keep moving forward," he said. "We are still open and back to business as usual."
Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen any suspicious vehicles in the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
