The Whippets played five round robin games for the day, winning four of the five matches.
The outstanding results saw the team qualify for the grand final against arch rivals Mt Gambier.
The netballers put up another big fight against Mt Gambier, but fell just short, losing 5-3.
The Whippets managed to shoot 32 goals for the day.
Donna Leith was awarded the Wimmera Uniting Care player of the day for her excellent shooting and defence work in the goalkeeper position. Coach Becky Schmidt said the team was proud to have made the grand final.
“We went into the game as underdogs but our heads were high,” she said.
“We left the day with big smiles, new friends and more determination for our next tournament.”
The Whippets will return to training on July 6 to prepare for the next netball carnival on July 17 in Warrnambool.
