Barry competed from June 11 to 24, playing in sectional rounds, a knockout game and quarter finals.
He recorded a 21-11 victory in the singles and a doubles score of 17-10.
Barry said there wasn’t much training involved in preparing for the games, given his high level of experience.
“It’s always a hard competition though with competitors coming all the way from New Zealand,” he said.
“It’s a significant win and it’s all leading up to the next Commonwealth Games in 2018.”
The Commonwealth Games bowls squad will be selected early next year.
Barry is no stranger to the bowls world, having played the game for 23 years.
“My grandmother got me into it in the beginning and I lived across the road from the bowls club so that got me into it too,” Barry said.
Barry earned a 2015 October Wimmera Sports Star of the Year nomination on the back of winning two gold medals at the World Cerebral Palsy Games in England.
He also claimed a bronze medal with Victoria at the National Cerebral Palsy Championships for soccer.
Barry also tasted success at the National Lawn Bowls Cerebral Palsy Championships, finishing runner-up in the singles and gold in the pairs event.
Barry will now turn his attention to the Commonwealth Games trials.
