The group held the fourth meeting of its stakeholder group for development of its Integrated Transport Strategy on June 17.

Chair of the group, Cr David Grimble, said all stakeholders discussed a range of concepts for the final strategy.

“The concept, represent the collation of ideas that had developed from the earlier stakeholder meetings, combined with technical information from the consultants investigations,” Cr Grimble said.

“The workshop included discussion of ring road and bypass options, the alignment of the railway line, and considered additional traffic data extracted by the consultants from earlier investigations."

Cr Grimble said the group had started to approach critical stages of the project, with the next phase being the preparation of a progress report.

“This report will provide an assessment of the merit of each element of the concepts based on the comments from stakeholders at this latest meeting,” he said.

After review by the stakeholder group, Horsham council plans to release the progress report for public comment.

“The stakeholder group will then, with the assistance of the consultants, assess all of the public feedback to feed into a final draft report,” Cr Grimble said.
