Border Districts struggled from the outset as Lucindale went from strength to strength in the opening quarter.
Lucindale kicked six goals in the opening term to two behinds for the Eagles.
Border Districts found renewed strength in the second term, narrowing in on Lucindale, but still trailed by nearly six goals.
Clinton Robinson booted three goals for Border Districts, while Thomas Underwood, Fraser Adams and Daniel Hargraves kicked two goals each.
Despite the best efforts of the Eagles in front of goal, Lucindale prevailed in the second half to eventually record a 77-point win.
Best on ground for Border Districts were Underwood, Rodney Oliver, Nathan Naylor, Cameron Sandercock and Justin Watson.
Kaniva-Leeor United experienced a similar fate when it took on seventh-placed Mundulla.
The Cougars trailed by nine points at the end of the first quarter and held firm through the second.
It was the third quarter which saw Kaniva-Leer United slip, as the Cougars gradually lost touch.
A poor final quarter effort saw Mundulla claim the win 23.8 (146) to 6.5 (41).
Jesse Salt, Hamish Bennett, Toby Stribling, Alex Brown, Billy King and Daniel Raynor were Kaniva-Leeor United’s best.
Salt and Valor Thach kicked two goals each for the team.
