Club president Phyllis Loeliger said she was upset someone had broken into the small club.
“It makes you cross because we’re an isolated club with nobody near by,” she said
“They can make as much noise as they want without being noticed.”
The thief cut through the course’s boundary before using bolt cutters on another chain to access the shed.
From there they took a compressor, 24 junior golf clubs valued at $800 and a recently purchased Top Flite golf push buggy.
“The club runs an eight-week junior program each year so we have been building up junior equipment for some time,” Mrs Loeliger said.
“Some of the clubs hadn’t even been used yet.”
The club had only recently completed this year’s program so the clubs had been packed away in the shed.
Mrs Loeliger said she had been told of other reported break-ins at nearby golf clubs as well.
“We’ll certainly be looking to upgrade our security,” she said.
Anyone with any information should contact their local police station.
