This year the ride will begin in Halls Gap and finish on the Great Ocean Road.
Northern Grampians Shire councillor Jason Hosemans said event organisers were encouraging community groups, businesses and residents in the region to take advantage of the spike in visitors.
“This is a really exciting event that will attract more than 5000 people to Halls Gap. With the ride heading all the way down to Geelong, Halls Gap is very lucky to be considered as the starting point,” he said.
Mr Hosemans said it would be great to see the community and businesses get involved.
“You could have sausage sizzles, pop-up stores or other creative activities,” he said.
“As well as providing fundraising opportunities for community groups, this is a fantastic way for us to promote ourselves to tourists and show them everything that’s great about our shire.”
Riders will begin to arrive in Halls Gap from Friday, November 24 and will be in town all day Saturday.
“They will camp on Saturday night and then the ride begins early Sunday morning,” Cr Hosemans said.
