The key-forward will also celebrate his 22nd birthday against the Power, running out for the first time since round two, 2015.
Close missed almost the whole 2015 season with an ACL injury.
After a strong 2016 pre-season, Close was sidelined again after fracturing his wrist and injuring a ligament in his ankle.
Close is one of five inclusions to the Lions’ side that defeated Essendon by 37-points last weekend.
He made his debut for the Lions in round one of 2014.
Close has kicked 10 goals for the Lions in a 15-game career for the club.
