The council gave the the green light for the event on Tuesday after working through protocols to accommodate requirements for the show.
Horsham Rural City Council’s events coordinator Chris McClure said it was exciting.
“We expect that around 8,000 people will attend,” he said.
“We are already seeing a lot of excitement through social media with people wanting more information.
“It will be Horsham’s biggest ever sporting event.”
Nitro Circus marketing manager Nathan Brown said touring the show around regional Victoria is exciting.
“Victoria is our strongest market. Melbourne is our number one city and regional Victoria is a hotbed for dirt-bikes and action sports,” Mr Brown said.
When the show visits Horsham it will bring 36 athletes and a set that is transported by 12 semi-trailers.
“It's the full international act that is currently on the world tour in North America,” Mr Brown said.
“The tour set consists of 12 semi trailers and is the third biggest touring set in the world behind rock bands AC/DC and U2.”
Mr Brown said Nitro Circus would also provide a boost to the local economy.
“The economical impact is big. We have done a study that suggests about $500,000 would be injected into the local economy,” he said.
“People staying at accommodation, eating in town and the food and drink sold at the show is all money that goes into the local economy.
“It is great for the region, great for us and the athletes love performing in regional centres.
Nitro Circus also prides itself on being a show that is suitable for the whole family.
“The primary target is males aged between 16 and 39 but the secondary target is all people, whether it is grandchildren, mums or grandparents,” Mr Brown said.
“There is no swearing, no girls in bikinis. It is a family-friendly show.”
Horsham City oval has been designated as the preferred venue for the event.
Horsham will be the eighth stop on a 14-show Australian tour.
The event’s date is yet to be finalised.
