Giants coach Maddelyne Foott said her side expected a tough game.
“It will be tough for sure but we are up for the challenge,” she said.
“We will be playing with confidence. We have nothing to lose.
“We are doing it for each other and the girls stuck on the sidelines.”
Emma Uebergang fractured her wrist and Courtney Williams suffered an ACL injury in round 15.
The injuries saw the remaining team members struggle in a loss against Natimuk United in round 16.
Foott said the first half of the game grew the side’s confidence as the team managed to stick with the Ewes.
“Everyone is really excited with the finals weather in the air,” she said.
“The encouragement is above and beyond.”
Foott said the last time the Giants met with the Mountain Maids, the goalies were a challenge.
“The goalies had quick passes and their defenders were good with great rebounds,” she said.
The Mountain Maids will look to coach and shooter Caitlin Story alongside goal attack Nikki Ervin to continue their teamwork and accuracy in the goals. The Giants will look to Amy Walder.
