The win was soured by injury with the Magpies likely to have some question marks over the availability of some players for the semi-final after finishing with no fit players on the bench.
The Magpies jumped out of the blocks kicking four goals in the first quarter with the help of a slight breeze while keeping the Demons scoreless.
In the second term Wickliffe-Lake Bolac were able to close the game down and limit the damage on the scoreboard.
The Magpies were able to kick two goals into the breeze to take a 22 point lead into the long break.
The half time message from coach Joe Otto resonated with the team with the side coming out and kicking four goals in the first six minutes of the third term.
The forward pressure was evident with Lismore-Derrinallum struggling to clear the ball out of its defensive area.
Coach Joe Otto said it was a big improvement on the team’s round 18 match but there was plenty of work still to do.
“It was some of the best football we have played this year,” he said.
“Our boys stuck to their guns all day.
“We had a few sore bodies at the end so I was happy with how they ran out the game.”
“The midfield are slowly starting to gel together which is pleasing.”
“We will have a big week on the training track ahead of next week.”
Rhys Otto was lively up forward for the Magpies kicking three goals.
He got plenty of support from Joseph Gilbert, Joe Otto and Bailey Veale who were the other multiple goalkickers.
