The session has been scheduled to inform Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members about how Indigenous Business Australia might be able to assist them to buy a home.
The Horsham sessions will be held during the day on September 6 at Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative, 43 Hamilton Street.
The sessions will be run as individual appointments.
Indigenous Business Australia is a federal government corporation established to advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander economic interests.
Since its inception in 1975, the corporation’s Indigenous Home Ownership program has assisted more than 17,000 Indigenous families in buying a home.
The Horsham information sessions will cover how the corporation’s affordable commencing home loan interest rates, low deposit requirements and supportive application process can make home purchase decisions less overwhelming.
In 2014-15 the corporation financed 517 new home loans with a total value of $149.6 million of which almost 80 per cent were in regional or remote Australia.
This new lending enabled over 1200 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to enjoy the social and economic benefits of home ownership.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who would like to find out more about home ownership and how the corporation can assist are encouraged to register their place for an information session
