Ms Twyford has replaced Paula Clarke, who announced her retirement earlier this year after serving in the role since 2009.
Wimmera library board chairman Cr Leo Tellefson said Ms Twyford had 20 years of library experience in government, corporate, university and school libraries
Ms Twyford has previously worked for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, Clayton Utz law firm, the Australian Tax Office and Buloke Shire Council.
“I’ve just been getting a feel for the place. It will be a little while before I can look at making any changes to move the service forward,” Ms Twyford said.
