The Bombers were strong out of the gates, cementing an early lead.
The second quarter saw the Saints battling hard but the side was boxed out by the Bombers once again.
It was all on the line in the final quarter as both sides desperately fought for the victory.
The final score saw the Bombers secure a comfortable win, 11.5(71)-4.11(35).
Bombers coach Heath Francis said the early lead was crucial to the win.
“We did say during the week we wanted a fast start,” he said.
“To get that goal in the first 30 seconds or so really set the tone.
“It was a really good first half.”
Francis said the team worked hard against its obstacles.
“There was a few sore bodies in the second half but at the end of the day we gutsed it out,” he said.
“They really wanted it.”
Francis said the Bombers pressure was a big strength.
Our tackling and pressure caused a lot of turnovers,” he said.
“We made the most of our opportunities whereas the Saints missed a few.
“They played as a real team as they have all year.”
Francis said he was proud of his team for going back-to-back.
“I think there is a dozen of them that played last year, who knew what it was like and had a taste for it,” he said.
“For the ones in their first year they are really up and about and loving it.”
Jesse Lese was a key standout for the Saints delivering two goals for the side.
Daniel McGinty and Jack Wall were the other Saints goal kickers.
Sebastian Relouw was a standout in the Bombers backline and captain James Gregg was vital in the middle.
