Agfarm Victoria regional manager Izzi Griffin said it was a chance for women to share ideas and learn about issues such as grain pricing and marketing.
"It was a bit of a trial really. We hosted a similar event in Bendigo recently and it was very popular," she said.
"I thought if we could get 10 people at Bendigo that would be good and we ended up with 45.
"There were a few women there who had travelled from this area to be part of that event."
About 20 women including a wedding photographer, grains industry staff, mums and teachers attended the event in Horsham at the Grains Innovation Park.
Ms Griffin said the day consisted of three sessions on grain prices and better decision-making, transporting grain and global supply and distribution, which was a key topic with harvest approaching.
She said she was impressed with the feedback from the day.
"I am really impressed with how it's gone. The feedback has been extremely positive," she said.
"The biggest comment I have taken from the event is that women in small groups tend to be more comfortable and confident to ask questions."
Ms Griffin said the group planned to host a similar series of events next year.
"We hope to be able to do a couple every six months," she said.
