The Hawks jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter and kicked five goal to zero.
Tatyoon coach Adrian Pilgrim said the win was a good reward for the team.
“It was a fantastic effort by the group,” he said.
“We really just focused on our lead up and preparation.
“That certainly showed today. I thought our ball use was fantastic.”
The Hawks remained in control of the game for the all four quarters.
Pilgrim said there was a focus on starting well.
“We just wanted to stay really relaxed,” he said.
“It was going to be difficult to wait for the result of who we were going to play in the grand final.
“We just needed to harness the nerves and realise that heightens the senses.”
