Goal shooter
Harrow-Balmoral’s Amy Lewis was the number one pick for the goal shooter position but Noradjuha-Quantong’s Sharon Fedke, Laharum’s Caitlin Story and Natimuk United’s Shannon Couch all received a mention.
Saints’ netball director Lee Fox said Lewis was accurate under intense pressure.
“Height mixed with experience makes her an ideal choice,” she said.
Goal attack
Most coaches saw experienced shooter Caitlin Story as a perfect fit for goal attack after a stellar season with Laharum.
Laharum’s Nikki Ervin was another high contender as well as Edenhope-Apsley’s Sacha McDonald.
Wing attack
Wing attack was a much more difficult position with several players nominated to take the spot.
Southern Roos’ Sarah Langley was the top pick after contributing to her team’s premiership win.
Saints’ Teagan Lang, Ewes’ Cheryl Sudholz and Emily Hateley, Southern Roos’ Sarah Cleaver and Bombers’ Georgia Francis were all nominated for the ultimate wing attack.
Centre
Emma Uebergang was the number one choice for centre after her league best and fairest joint win and a terrific season with the Giants.
Wing defence
Ewes’ Michelle Trigg comfortably claimed the wing defence position.
Saints’ Sarah Jude and Teagan Lang and Laharum’s Nikki Ervin were other polling picks.
Laharum coach Caitlin Story said Trigg stuck tight to her player and helped bring the ball down the court.
Goal defence
Goal defence undoubtedly went to league best and fairest joint winner Ebonie Salter from the Southern Roos.
Bombers’ Brooke Pay was the second most popular choice.
Ewes’ coach Cheryl Sudholz said Salter was an obvious choice.
“It’s a no brainer – she is the best I know,” she said.
Goal keeper
Goal keeper was an unclear area with every coach nominating a different player for the spot.
Laharum’s Ema Iredell, Saints’ Laura McDonald, Southern Roos’ Megan Russell and Ebonie Salter, Ewes’ Casey Vanstan and Jo Taylor, Tigers’ Marnie Lehmann and Giants’ Amy Walder were all equally nominated.
Coach
It was a tight decision between Bombers’ Sharon Fedke and Southern Roos’ Ebonie Salter but Fedke narrowly claimed the all important coaching gig.
