The Junior School Council organised the Operation Shoebox on a free dress day where students donated any amount of money to help the cause.
School teacher Fergus O’Connor said this is not the first time the school has done it but this year they tried something different.
“This year we took the children on an excursion to go buy the gifts from the money we had raised,” he said.
“The kids really enjoyed it.”
The school raised more than $800 to fill the shoeboxes and filled 30 with gifts.
Mr O’Connor said that he thought it was great this year.
“Some kids were very generous and gave more than a gold coin donation,” he said.
“The Junior School Council boxed them all up after we bought all of the gifts.”
