Part of my ministry with The Salvation Army in Horsham is our children’s program. One of the programs is called Junior Soldiers. There are three levels in this program – bronze, silver and gold. There are seven sections in each program, they are: participation, attending worship services and children’s classes, prayer, Bible study, service, holy living, worship and projects.

Last Sunday two of our Junior Soldiers, in order to complete their bronze section and move on to silver, needed to conduct a fundraising activity and donate the money raised to a project within The Salvation Army.
This year they chose to support the Make it Happen 2015/16 project - Anti Human Trafficking Nepal.
The girls, along with their extensive team of helpers, did a great job.
It is rewarding to watch young people show an interest in what is happening around the world and be prepared to support such programs as best they can.
Before the congregation shared morning tea with the Junior Soldiers, we held our service.
I was a little weary being the last day before leaving for holidays. I was sitting opposite one young girl who when the music started she turned around to look at the screen and sign with her whole heart, such expression on her face.
The song was How great is our God (CCLI 122097 Chris Tomlin, Jessie Reeves, Ed Cash).
We sang: “The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty.
Let all the earth rejoice.
All the earth rejoice.
He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide.
And trembles at His voice.
Trembles at His voice.
How great is our God, sing with me.
How great is our God, and all will see.
How great, how great is our God.”
Her body was moving, she was smiling and she raised her arm in worship.
She was involved with the song and she was praising God, there was a look of such Joy on her face.
“Always be full of joy in the Lord, I say it again rejoice.” Philippians 4:4.
