Festival committee member Wilf Dickeson said 20 groups had so far signed on for the parade, but more were still needed for the major event.
“You don’t have to have a grandiose float if that is going to prevent you,” he said.
“Just be in it with something simple to be involved.”
Sponsorship from Saines Lucas Solicitors has also provided prizes for the parade.
The best children’s group, best community group and best business will all receive $150 each.
Mr Dickeson said Golden Gateway was the state’s longest running festival with more than 57 years behind it.
“An entry in the parade gives your group a great opportunity for positivity in the community,” he said.
Festival committee member Missy Perry said tickets for Golden Gateway’s opening ball on October 14 can be booked by calling her 0409 253 276.
