St Arnaud Senior Constable Shane Weeks said a 2.5 metre by 2.5 metre window of a shop front, with residence, was smashed about 11.30pm Saturday.
He said the premise was occupied at the time with the incident leaving the resident quite scared.
Senior Constable Weeks said a St Arnaud male, in his mid-20s, was to be interviewed over the incident after police found a trail of blood nearby.
He said nothing was stolen or damaged aside from the window.
