THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the Wimmera district and continued a flood watch warning for the Wimmera basin.

They said damaging winds of 50 to 60 kilometers a hour, with peak gusts of 100 kilometres a hour are expected to develop across the western districts late Wednesday.
In elevated areas thunderstorms and gusts of 110 kilometres are predicted.
The bureau said the predicted heavy rain might lead to flash flooding in the Mallee and Wimmera districts Wednesday night.
Rainfall totals of 10-25 mm are likely across most districts with isolated totals of 50 mm possible.
The bureau said rain and wind would ease late Thursday morning.
Wimmera sheep graziers are warned there is a risk of lamb and sheep loss in these conditions.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
* Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water;
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains;
* Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks;
* Be alert that in areas recently affected by fires, heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads;
