CCTV footage taken at Burwood railway station in April captures the two men lassoing the top-up machine with a rope, which they then attach to a ute and yank it out of its place.

That's the easy part.

Once the machine is on the ground, the hooded pair then get a serious workout as they attempt to lift it on to the back of the ute.

One man has a serious case of builders' smile, as he bends a little too much with his back for such a heavy load. Perhaps occupational health and safety isn't a thing in the criminal world.

After multiple attempts, which include the use of a makeshift plank, the removalists finally manage to dump the mass of steel and plastic in to the tray.

The duo then make their getaway, presumably thinking of ways to get inside their newfound loot.
